Songs of the Day: Sean Hayes, Mike Mains and the Branches, Jesse Morrow, The Paper Kites, Parade Lights, The Wellspring.

Sorry, kind of took a holiday break. Lets get back to it.

Sean Hayes-When We Fall In

Song makes you want to ask a pretty girl to dance. Check out "Powerful Stuff" too.

Mike Mains and the Branches-Stereo

I really like MMB. Reminds me a lot of Mumford and Sons, The Kooks, and Two Door Cinema.

Jesse Morrow-Rolls in and Out

First couple of seconds of this song, I was like, "Sounds like The Black Keys."

The Paper Kites-Bloom

Absolutely love these guys. My friend Katie first introduced me to them. Check out "Featherstone" too. The best way I can describe their sound is "very down to earth". I don't know why I get that impression.

Parade Lights-First Light

The Wellspring-The Ballad of El Goodo

Nice cover. Their voices compliments each other very well.

Songs of the Day: Patrick Stump, Grynch, Sol.

Patrick Stump-This City

I love Fall Out Boy, but Patrick is definitely doing his THANG with his new album, Soul Punk. I like to play this song, when I'm walking through downtown. Also, I was jamming to this nonstop when Rangers made the World Series. Another song I like is "Allie."

Grynch-All I Wanna Do

Best laid-back party song ever! Sol killed the chorus.

Sol-This Shit

I first heard Sol on KEXP. Do yourself a favor, go to Youtube and type in "Sol KEXP". You will love every song. He might be my next Artist Focus.

Songs of the Day(Doubled):

Olin & The Moon-Another One Down

The Royal Suns-Finger Crossed

I like everything about these guys. Great find.

Mike Del Rio-What More Can I Say

Motopony-King of Diamonds

Be sure to check out their other songs, Wait For Me and June.

The Fray-Heartbeat

New single from The Fray! The album is called Scars & Stories, it'll drop Feb 2012.

The Maine-Don't Give Up On Us

Speaking of new, The Maine has a new album coming out called Pioneer. I think they sound a little more grown-up on this one. I'm going to have to get it when it comes out this December.

Songs of the Day: General Fiasco, Light, Civalias Surprise.

General Fiasco-I'm Not Made Eyes

Dig the vocals very much.

Light-Toes

I've been following Lights for a while now, not stalking, I mean her career. First song I heard from her was February Air, that's when I started crushing on her. She's at the social media/You Tube kinda level of fame. I would like to see her at the radio/tv level of fame. I think she's talented enough to be playing on major radio stations across the country. Also, she's very beautiful. She's look like my ideal girl. See how I saved the superficial things for last. ;-)

Civalias-Surprise Surpise

"Don't be afraid. I'm yours for goodness sake." Civalias has a lot of other good songs like We've Got Company and Something Real, but my personal favorite is Surprise Surprise. I don't know why. That's the thing about music, you don't need a reason.

Songs of the Day:

Jack's Mannequin-My Racing Thoughts

Straight from the new Jack's Mannequin album People and Things.

Andy Davis-Brown Eyes

What guy can't relate to a song about meeting "the girl"?

The Barr Brothers-Lord I Just Can't Keep From Cryin'

These guys have a similar blues/rock sound as The Black Keys, with a slight modern twist.

Songs of the Day:

The Bloodsugars-Happiness

Boy & Bear-Feeding Line

Also check out their other songs: Mexican Mavis, Rabbit Song, Blood To Gold. People say they're the next Mumford and Sons. I sure hope so.

Polarsets-Sunshine Eyes

Songs of the Day:

James Morrison ft. Jessie J-Up

New James Morrison! Can't wait to get the new album!

Lydia-Dragging Your Feet in the Mud

Awesome new Lydia album. I do miss Mindy White, but she's now in a pretty cool band called States. So it's okay.

The Cinema-The Wolf

Speaking of Lydia, Leighton Antelman did his own side project called The Cinema. From the debut album, I like Kill It, Picasso, Say It Like You Mean It...oh hell, I like the whole album.

The Gabe Dixon Band- All Will Be Well

Heard this song from Parks and Rec.

Movie Music

The Mostar Diving Club-Worlds Collide

Just heard this song from the movie Waiting For Forever. Check out the whole soundtrack, it's really sweet.

Cover Artist: Anna Scouten

So far I have three segment titles: Artist Focus, Albums To Check Out, Songs of The Day. Now I'm proud to present Cover Artist. You know how on YouTube, there's hundreds of people doing cover songs. Well, some of them aren't that bad.

I would like to feature Anna Scouten as my first Cover Artist. I first saw a video of her doing a cover of Blood Bank by Bon Iver. Then other ones from artists such as Bright Eyes, Coldplay, etc. My first thought when seeing her was, "Great cover." Second, was "Damn, she's beautiful." Third, "She has really great taste in music." Finally again, "Damn, she's beautiful."

Songs of the Day:

MNDR-I Go Away

I really like her voice. Definitely one of the best electronica band I've heard lately.

Wolf Gang-The King and All of His Men

I had this song on repeat for days. It makes you want to dance and sing along. Apparently, this is the second music video for this song. I saw another one a few months ago, where it had people in life-size chess pieces. There's also another song I like called Lions In Cages.

Of Monster And Men-Little Talks

They remind me a lot of Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros, but less hippie.

Songs of the Day:

Jack Penate-Pull My Heart Away

This song makes me feel like sailing, which is ironic because I first heard it on Charlie St. Cloud.

Until June-Baby(Hope You Understand)

Until June is simply brillant!

Sublime with Rome-Same Old Situation

Familiar name, different singer, still great sound. Yours Truly is the debut album of the "new" band. I'm going to give Sublime with Rome a new genre, Pop Reggae. Dig it.
